What’s Included:
2 Tour Guides will be travelling with you. Both are the Official Spanish Wine Educators and will be on hand for any questions. You will also meet the winemakers in 2 vineyards we will visit, the tastings will be guided in English. We will visit some of the wonderful museums, castles, cathedrals and churches (please see the itinerary – the admission will be included to the ones specified in it).
Maps, guides, brochures and more will be given to you to enhance your experience.
A luxury Tour Bus with a restroom will be our transportation. We will board the bus at the assigned time at the Madrid Airport and the bus will transport us from place to place, until our last day in Santiago de Compostela. Please bring 1 medium bag and a small carry on only. Your luggage will be transported between hotels.
Our groups are small and will assure the individual attention and give you a chance to meet new friends. However, you will have plenty of free time on your own to explore and enjoy with your travel companion. This tour gives you a perfect balance in between guided sightseeing and your own exploration.
You will be staying in the most luxurious and incredible places – all 7 nights you will be staying at the historical Spanish Pardores. All accommodations are based on a double room (you will be asked for your companion’s name, or you will be matched with a roommate if possible. You can also purchase a single supplement). Please keep in mind that these exquisite places are 12th century gems, and the décor is unparalleled. Due to that unique character, the hotel cannot always be able to accommodate our bed requests: all our rooms accommodate 2 people, but you might not be able to choose if your room would have 2 double beds or one queen/king. In all cases we work hard to ensure your accommodation request.
Food and wine is very important to us: meals included are specified in the itinerary. Every morning you will be treated to an incredible breakfast at your historical Parador. We will also have 3 dinners at the Paradors, including the wine representing the region (the equivalent of at least 1 bottle per couple, other tours offer "wine" which means a glass, we include plenty). We will also have 1 lunch in Rioja, at the Dinastia Vivanco world renowned vineyard, where a wine tasting and lunch will be designed especially for our group. One more lunch with wine is included at Ponferrada. Other meals are not included – this way you can explore and enjoy your own discoveries.
Not included:
Any airfare, airport taxes/transfers / departure fees, visas, or items of personal nature - laundry, phone, luggage surplus charges, medical expenses, tips.
You are responsible to show up at the specified time at the specified place in Madrid airport for a pick up. If you fail to do so, you are responsible for any costs and arrangements to get to the hotel. The tour ends in Santiago de Compostela, you are responsible for any further transfers (please view the itinerary).
No insurance is included. We strongly urge the purchase of the appropriate travel and personal insurance, including trip cancellation / interruption insurance/medical/etc. We like Squaremouth.com, which allows you to compare various policies across the top Insurance Providers.
We reserve the right to change, modify, or cancel a tour prior to departure for any reason, including lack of participants or acts of nature and/or circumstances beyond our control. In this case, any payments received will be refunded in full, and this will constitute full settlement. We are not responsible for any additional expenses due to a canceled tour, such as the purchase of non-refundable airline tickets.
